Bush to Beach

A few days relaxing on the coast is a welcome relief after the dry, dusty and drought-stricken regions of Queensland. I wish I could bottle and take as a keepsake the tantalizing delights of the beach. Inside the bottle I’d pour the sound of crunching seashells exploding beneath my feet, the invigorating smell of salty air teasing on my face, the taste of clear, salt water stinging dry lips and the feel of cool sand squishing between my toes.

These are the souvenirs that would be kept secure inside my bottle called ‘Memories’. And when I head back to the rural areas of Queensland, I would slowly open the lid, close my eyes and remember…..
